Can I bring someone to my Cosmetic Tattoo procedure?

No. To ensure a safe and high standard of work, please be aware that the clinic is set up to permit for one operator and one client only. No children thank you. Your cooperation is essential and appreciated.

Should I wax/tint my brows pre-Cosmetic Tattoo?

Please don’t tint your brows within 2 weeks of your treatment. Brows must be clean of Henna tint. Please don’t wax your brows within 1 week of your treatment.

How long will my brows last?

Pigment retention time varies from person to person dependant on skin type, pigment colours, lifestyle factors and certain medications. Your brows should last between 12 and 24 months. A refresh will be necessary to keep the colour and shape vibrant. Multiple sessions are expected for cosmetic tattoo procedures. Exposure to sunlight, chlorine and smoking may cause the pigment to fade. The application of sunscreen is recommended to preserve the pigment.

How long does it take to heal?

The healing phase varies between individuals but generally 7-10 days is realistic. Some flaking is to be expected however, a topical application of Bepanthen First Aid Antiseptic cream can be applied twice daily from day four to minimise itching and discomfort. Aftercare instructions must be followed to maximize the retention of the pigment.

What will I look like immediately after?

Immediately after your treatment mild redness and swelling can occur but will likely reduce within a few hours. The area treated will appear bold and vibrant and the colour may appear 20-50% darker than your intended colour however, this will soften as the skin heals. The natural exfoliation phase occurs 7-10 days post treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

It is recommended that after the initial treatment you return for a secondary retouch service at between 6-8 weeks. It is possible that a third treatment may be required subject to the individual. People with oilier skin may find that the pigment is pushed out from the epidermis or people with low iron may experience low pigment absorption.

You must be 18 years or over to receive a Cosmetic Tattoo. It’s illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18.

What will affect the longevity of my Cosmetic Tattoo?

  • Lighter pigments will fade faster than darker pigments.

  • If you’re anaemic you will metabolise pigment faster
Thyroid medication and hormone replacement medication (Treatment can still go ahead however; additional touch-up appointments may be needed to keep your cosmetic tattoo looking fresh).
